Bridgerton the Musical
The Netflix show “Bridgerton” had gained popularity during the pandemic, and has also inspired a now released “The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical” album by Barlow and Bear. Abigail Barlow initially brought forth this concept on TikTok by releasing snippets of songs depicting scenes from the show, the first one being “Burn For You”. This inspired me to create a playbill for the hypothetical musical, as I was also very inspired by the show with a different art medium.
the process
I made two versions of a playbill: the first one inspired by the Lady Whistledown Society Papers from the show, and the second inspired by the poster art of the show. I posted the process on TikTok as well, which garnered a decent amount of viewership (255.8K views) and is one of the moments where I truly enjoyed the process of design and inspiration.
reflection
This project was a fun creative outlet for me. I was able to take something I was genuinely interested in and inspired by, and create something different. It allowed me to explore illustration as a medium which I don’t do often. Through this project, I was able to find a space where something I created was appreciated and understood.
